Kums' Seventh Sense

This is something I have been wanting to try for a long time. I love nail art, and unfortunately I am no artist. But anybody can do lines! This is how I did it: 1) Two coats of silver-white nail polish. 2) I do not own black polish so I used my eye-liner to draw the black lines. Generally eye-liner is water soluble. To prevent that I finished with a transparent top-coat over nails. 3) The black lines have to be drawn with a thin brush. Take care while drawing it. 4) Dont worry if you cant get the lines straight, zebra's dont have straight lines :D 5) Apply the top coat carefully and slowly. Dont apply pressure on the brush, if you do the eye-liner will chip. 6) Nail polish takes a lot of time to dry, 2 to 3 hours actually. Be careful. 7) Do not worry if you cant apply nail polish without applying some on the skin around it. That is not a problem to sweat over. Take bath, it's gone and the nails are perfect! :D Happy Coloring! Do post your experience, difficult...

Before I start, my dear folks there is a botanical garden in coimbatore its up and functioning and is good too. View Larger Map I had been thinking about changing my profile picture on facebook for the past few weeks :P and when I thought about the location, botanical garden came to my mind. So, I asked a friend of mine, Sowmya (from college), if she can accompany me to the garden to take pics she said ok so we set the date and off we went. We started about 11 in the morning and chose to go by bus because unfortunately that day my bike wasn't available. We reached there by 12 noon. That is when I knew that the timings specified in the justdial website were all wrong! We had to wait for 2 hours before the garden opened again. So we decided to walk back some distance find some restaurant or something to spend time, because there is no such thing for another 1km toward east and until vadavalli toward west. We spent some time and money and earned some huge calories at the bak...

Came across this lil fella on my way back home. As im not a big animal person i was not able to go very close to the kitty..

Achu.. I met this lovely kid at my granny's place. I do not even know her real name!! I was deeply moved by her story. She is the grand-daughter of one of my gran's tenents. Her father passed away a few months ago; she has a kid brother; her mother ran away with somebody taking the little brother and leaving this girl with the grand-mother. She lives in such a situation but you must see her to thank god for what you have.. She keeps smiling :) all the time. Her gran works for some rich family in the village and the rich family says no to the kid coming with her gran.. And Achu never turns her head toward the rich's house! She refuses to have any food we offer... she's like im happy with what i have... she never ever asks for anything! For some reason I had to take my camera to my gran's and take some pics that day... any normal kid would ask to see the camera or atleast have a picture of hers shot.. I was expecting this girl to ask me but she never did.. I aske...

One thing I love about Coimbatore is its rains...!!! We, the Coimbatoreans are gifted with rains during both the south-west and north-east monsoon season. The first of rains for this season made an amazing entry I should say. What started as a hot day turned out to be very cool... and the climate has remained cool till now. Never very hot and never bitingly cold - that's what makes Coimbatore really special.. I hope people who have left Coimbatore would agree with me. Rain and rain drops, according to me, make a beautiful subject of photography... :) even if i am not a great photographer, I have tried to capture their beauty with my lens :) The first picture shows drops of rain water on a young leaf. I think it looks happy :) I always liked playing with water drops on glass, this time I have played with my lens :) (P.S: I think the water marks are ok this time??)

It is summer...!! I think I am gifted to spend my summers in Coimbatore...!! :) The temperature rarely shoots up more than 38 degree. Today morning, I got up late... (skipped my morning walk) It was around 8:30 when I shot this picture :). Looks like the sun is playing hide and seek in the morning.. guess he is in a playful mood today...!! Heard that it rained near Kuniamuthur. I am expecting some "mango showers"(that's what we call rain in summer, right?? remember learning something like that in school!!??) here in the eastern end of Coimbatore too... As I write this, I look outside... he is out now..!! Hope he hides again :) Have A Beautiful Summer...!!! (Took this photograph with my camera set in the hi-key mode)

This photograph was taken on the 10th of January'09 - a full moon day. I guess the first full moon day of 2009. It is said that on that day 2009's biggest and brightest full moon appeared. (well, thats y i took the photo ;) ) 14% bigger and 30% brighter...!!! (smiling at me you see) it was looking like a cheese ball that day...!! This photograph was shot with an Olympus digital SLR camera 40-150mm lens on full zoom from my terrace with a portion of the coconut palm (to add some poetic effect). 16/5 s exposure time with f-number 14.
